PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. (CBS12) — An 18-year-old from West Palm Beach was arrested after a traffic stop led to the discovery of marijuana laced with fentanyl.
The incident occurred just before 1 p.m. on Wednesday when officers with the Palm Beach Gardens Police Department (PBGPD) stopped a silver Honda near Kew Gardens Ave. and Gardens Pkwy. The vehicle, which had dark tints, was pulled over for failing to make a complete stop at a stop sign.
The driver, identified as Brian Rosado, appeared nervous and was sweating when officers approached his vehicle. Rosado told police that he had previously been on parole for marijuana charges as a minor, which gave officers probable cause to search his car.
During the search, police found a range of narcotics and drug-related items, including:
Packaged e-cigarette pens containing THC oil
Empty packages for THC products
28 grams of marijuana that tested positive for both THC and fentanyl
$792 in cash
A Minion cartoon pipe
Digital scale
Vials of THC oil
Based on the findings, Rosado was arrested and charged with possession of fentanyl, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell.
