A drug bust in West Palm Beach led to the arrest of Davon Jamil Wright, 20, of Greenacres, who is wanted for his involvement in a 2022 attempted homicide, authorities announced on Saturday.
Wright, along with co-conspirator William “Nemo” David Wilson, was allegedly involved in a shooting that took place on November 15, 2022. The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office (PBSO) had apprehended Wilson after a month-long investigation, but Wright had evaded capture until now. In December 2022, investigators identified Wright, then 18, as a possible second suspect.
According to reports, on November 15, 2022, an 18-year-old was critically shot after 13 rounds were fired at 2820 Avenue S while he was sitting in a car with a friend. The shooting reportedly stemmed from a firearms transaction, with the victim’s friend telling police that an acquaintance had arranged to trade two firearms for a rifle. When the transaction fell through, Wright and his co-conspirator returned to confront the group, leading to a violent exchange.
After an argument, the two men left, only to return shortly afterward with two additional individuals. The shooting suspect, later identified as Wilson (“Nemo”), rushed towards the car, and one man shot the 18-year-old victim in the stomach at point-blank range. Wright was allegedly involved in the incident, with the victim suffering multiple bullet wounds.
Wright was arrested and booked on two counts of attempted first-degree murder, along with charges of possession of oxycodone, marijuana over 20 grams, and drug paraphernalia. He is now facing serious charges related to both the shooting and drug-related offenses.
