Warren Township, NJ – On April 1, 2025, Jeikin E. Martinez-Torres, a 30-year-old resident of Newark, NJ, was arrested after attempting to steal a package that had been fraudulently purchased online and was scheduled for delivery to a residence in Warren Township.
The incident began when Warren Township Police were notified on March 31, 2025, about the fraudulent online purchase and the scheduled delivery of the package. The authorities took immediate action and conducted surveillance on the delivery location, preparing for the arrival of the package.
At around 10:15 AM on April 1, officers began observing the residence where the package, which contained two Apple Watches, was expected to be dropped off. Shortly after 10:50 AM, a courier service delivered the package and left it on the front porch of the house.
Moments later, officers saw Martinez-Torres driving a 2018 Honda CR-V, arriving at the scene. He was seen exiting the vehicle, approaching the porch, and taking the package. As Martinez-Torres tried to return to his car, he was apprehended by the police without incident. Upon questioning, it was determined that Martinez-Torres had no legal right to possess the package.
Martinez-Torres was charged with Theft of Movable Property, a third-degree crime, and was taken into custody.
