Virendra Singh, 2 Others Arrested for Fake Robbery in Mathura

Three accused staged robbery to steal Rs 1.65 lakh company funds

Mathura police arrested three individuals for falsely reporting a robbery to misappropriate company funds, officials said on Monday. Virendra Singh alerted Raya police on Sunday night, claiming he and his two colleagues were attacked and robbed of Rs 3.5 lakh on a road between Suraj and Kapoor villages.

Further investigation revealed that Virendra and his companions worked for Allana Company, a leading exporter of processed meat, and were carrying Rs 1.65 lakh meant for deposit by the firm.

Raya SHO Ajay Kaushal stated, “Driven by greed, the accused fabricated the robbery story to steal Rs 1.65 lakh, which was later recovered from them.”

The accused — Virendra Singh (29), a company driver; Sakir Khan (48), and Rahul Singh (22), both laborers — were booked under BNS Section 240 for giving false information about an offense.
