The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Hyderabad Police on Thursday arrested Vemula Subba Rao and Vemula Kumari, both residents of Kokapet in Gandipet, for allegedly running a massive dairy farm investment scam that defrauded at least 41 people across Telangana of approximately Rs9 crore.

The duo operated under the name Kondapalli Dairy Farm Pvt Ltd, located in Nagireddyguda, Aziznagar, Moinabad. They launched the scheme in June 2022, advertising in newspapers and calling for “Good Investors” to fund a “well-running dairy farm,” falsely claiming a track record of “16 years of monthly guaranteed income.”

Interested investors were directed to a phone number listed under a man named Reddappa. However, the actual communication was handled by another individual, who convinced victims of lucrative monthly returns ranging from Rs2 to Rs5 lakh.

To build credibility, the accused invited potential investors to tour the dairy farm, showcasing cattle sheds, livestock, and a milk processing facility. The convincing setup and false claims of profitability lured many into investing large sums.

Eventually, the promised returns never materialized, and victims realized they had been duped. A case was registered under Cr.No. 22/2025, with charges under Sections 316(2), 318(4), and 61(2) of the BNS.

Police have urged the public to be vigilant and avoid investing in schemes offering unusually high returns without verification.
