In a major breakthrough, the Vellore police arrested R. Suriya (19), K. Selva (19), and R. Santhosh (24) for stealing silver and electronic items from houses in Vellore town. The trio, all residents of Vellore, was apprehended after a series of burglaries were reported in the area.
The arrests came after multiple complaints from local residents, who reported thefts of valuables, including silver and electronics, from their homes. Following the complaints, N. Manivannan, Superintendent of Police in Vellore, directed the formation of special teams to track down the culprits.
As part of the investigation, additional check posts were set up at key intersections in the town to monitor movement and gather intelligence. The police operation led to the identification and arrest of the suspects.
Further interrogations are underway, and the police are investigating whether the arrested individuals are linked to other similar crimes in the region.
