The Vadodara Crime Branch successfully arrested two individuals involved in a string of criminal activities, including break-ins and thefts, in the city. The suspects, Naushad alias Sagar Mustak Alam from Navi Mumbai and Shera Chauhan from Naigaon, Maharashtra, were apprehended after attempting to flee when they spotted a police patrol vehicle.

According to an official, the police team noticed the duo trying to escape on a two-wheeler but quickly intercepted them. The criminals have been linked to multiple offenses, including thefts in Mumbai and surrounding areas. They were also wanted in four cases across different police stations in Vadodara.

“During interrogation, the suspects confessed to several thefts,” said the official. “Two mobile phones, a Ganesh idol, and cash were recovered from their possession.” The police also discovered that the two-wheeler they were using was stolen.

Investigations revealed that Naushad and Shera specifically targeted Vadodara for their criminal activities. They would scout deserted houses during the day and execute their thefts when the homes were empty.

The police are continuing their investigation to uncover the full extent of the suspects’ criminal activities and to determine if more stolen items can be traced back to them.
