Uppinangady Police Arrest Mohammad Rafiq for Attempted ATM Theft

Mohammad Rafiq arrested for attempting to steal cash from India One ATM in Kalleri.

In an attempted theft case, Uppinangady police arrested Mohammad Rafiq, 35, for allegedly attempting to steal cash from an ATM in Kalleri, Karaya village, near Uppinangady. The incident occurred at a private ATM centre operated under the name India One, located within the Thanneerupanta Agricultural Cooperative Society building in Kalleri.

According to the police, Rafiq broke into the premises, dismantled the CCTV camera, and tried to steal cash from the ATM machine. However, his actions were thwarted before he could complete the theft.

Rafiq, originally a resident of Kajur, was reportedly staying at his wife’s house in Kuppett at the time of the incident. Following the investigation, police arrested him at the residence, successfully apprehending the suspect for his criminal activities.
