WASHINGTON, N.C. (WITN) – Police have arrested a man accused of carrying out an armed robbery at a supply store in Washington, North Carolina.
Authorities say the incident happened last Wednesday at the Tractor Supply on 15th Street, where officers responded to a report of a theft. Store employees told police that the suspect had implied he was armed with a gun.
Following an investigation, police obtained warrants for 26-year-old Tyrese Starkie. He was arrested Monday and taken into custody without incident.
According to warrants, Starkie allegedly reached into his waistband and told an employee, “Your life ain’t worth it,” before stealing several power tools — including a chainsaw, trimmer, and trimmer/blower combo — valued at more than $750.
Starkie now faces charges of robbery with a dangerous weapon and felony conspiracy. He is being held at the Beaufort County Jail on a $125,000 bond.
Police have not reported any injuries, and the investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
