Two cyber fraudsters, Mosam (21) from Nuh and Aalim (22) from Uttawar in Palwal, have been arrested in separate cases of fraud registered in March.
Mosam is accused of cheating a private company worker out of Rs25,000 by tricking him with a fake Instagram quiz. The victim, Kishan Singh, from Dighot village, Palwal, filed a complaint on March 2. He had participated in an Instagram quiz in February and was told he had won an iPhone 14 Pro Max, a wristwatch, and a handbag. The fraudsters instructed him to pay various charges like GST and security fees. After paying Rs25,350 into different bank accounts, Kishan realized he had been scammed when the fraudsters stopped responding.
Meanwhile, Aalim obtained a credit card using a farmer’s details and spent nearly Rs9,000. Both suspects are currently in police remand as investigations continue into their criminal activities.
