Two Brothers Arrested in Nuh for Running Fake Online Hotel Booking Scam

by Ananya Mehta

The Nuh police have arrested two brothers for duping individuals by offering fake online hotel booking services. The arrested brothers, Wasim Akram and Haseen, both residents of Upla Mohalla in Nuh, were caught after they defrauded people by asking them to pay for hotel bookings that never occurred. During the arrest, the police recovered five mobile phones and seven fake SIM cards from the accused.

The duo operated by using fake documents to open bank accounts and obtained ATM cards, which they used to withdraw the defrauded money. In one case, a resident of Maharashtra filed a complaint with the Nuh cyber police after he contacted a mobile number on a website for a hotel room booking. The accused asked him to pay Rs 24,000 for the booking, but when the victim realized no booking was made, he lodged the complaint.

A police spokesperson stated, “The accused are being questioned and further investigation is underway.” The authorities are now focusing on dismantling the fraud network that was used to deceive unsuspecting individuals.
