Trai Kimhong Arrested for Razor Attack in Kandal Province

Victim slashed in the face while eating at home; suspect used drugs

KANDAL PROVINCE, CAMBODIA – A 36-year-old drug user has been arrested after allegedly attacking a man with a razor blade, causing serious facial injuries in Prek Run Village, Saang District.

Authorities say the incident took place around 1:00 PM on September 25, 2025, when the victim, Ni Nin (aka Ko), a 19-year-old laborer, was sitting at home eating lunch. Without warning, the suspect, identified as Trai Kimhong, allegedly approached from behind and slashed the victim’s face with a razor.

The attack left the victim with a deep cut requiring three stitches on his left cheek.

Following the violent incident, officers from Saang District Police and the Prek Koy Administrative Police Station, under the direction of Colonel Ros Chantha, responded swiftly. Kimhong was arrested at the scene and brought in for questioning.

Police confirmed that Kimhong tested positive for drug use during the investigation. His occupation was not specified.

The suspect is now in custody at the Saang District Police Office, where he faces charges related to intentional violence and drug abuse. Legal proceedings are underway.
