In a shocking incident, Tota Ram, a security guard from Ganperi village, has been arrested for allegedly killing his wife, Gulshan (26), and attempting to cover up the crime by burning her body. The police arrested Ram after an investigation revealed he had filed a false missing person report with the Shoghi police in an attempt to mislead authorities.
According to police sources, Ram allegedly murdered his wife and then tried to destroy the evidence by setting her body on fire. After her body was discovered, police began investigating, and their suspicions were raised when they found that the missing person report filed by Ram did not match the sequence of events.
Ram has been booked under Sections 103 (Punishment for murder) and 238 (Causing disappearance of evidence of offence, or giving false information to screen the offender) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). He will be produced in court today.
The police are continuing their investigation to understand the motives behind the crime and whether there were any prior instances of domestic violence or other related issues.
