Three Arrested in Fatal Stabbing at Santa Monica Hotel

Oscar Gonzalez killed, two suspects charged with homicide in February 15 incident

SANTA MONICA, CA – The Santa Monica Police Department (SMPD) has arrested three individuals in connection with a fatal stabbing that occurred at The Bungalow, part of the Fairmont Hotel, early Saturday morning, February 15, 2025.

At approximately 1:50 a.m., officers responded to a report of a stabbing following a verbal altercation. Upon arrival, officers found two male victims suffering from stab wounds. Emergency medical teams provided immediate aid and transported both victims to a local hospital.

One of the victims, 31-year-old Oscar Alfredo Gonzalez from Santa Maria, was critically injured and, despite life-saving efforts, later died from his wounds. The second victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Following a thorough investigation, detectives arrested two suspects, Alfredo Quinteros (41) and Ricardo Quintero (42), brothers from South Gate, on Monday, February 17, 2025, and a third suspect, Rogelio Arenas (32) of Los Angeles, on Wednesday, February 19, 2025. All three individuals have extensive criminal histories.

The charges are as follows:
• Alfredo Quinteros (DOB: 12-15-1983) – 187 PC – Homicide; No Bail
• Ricardo Quintero Jr. (DOB: 08-30-1982) – 32 PC – Accessory; No Bail
• Rogelio Arenas (DOB: 08-27-1992) – 187 PC – Homicide; No Bail

The investigation is ongoing, and authorities continue to ask for the public’s assistance in any additional information that could aid the case.
