Three individuals were arrested by the Namakkal police near Pallipalayam on Thursday for their involvement in the theft of an electric motor from a shop in Agraharam. The arrested men have been identified as Suresh (26), S Jeeva (23), and V Manikandan (26), all residents of Pallipalayam.

A few days earlier, the shop owner had filed a complaint reporting that an electric motor valued at Rs 5,000 had been stolen from the front of his shop. Based on this complaint, the police launched an investigation.

During a vehicle check on Wednesday night, police stopped Suresh, who gave evasive answers when questioned. Suspicious of his behavior, he was taken in for further questioning, during which he admitted to his involvement in the theft, along with two other individuals.

Following Suresh’s confession, police arrested the other two suspects, Jeeva and Manikandan. A case was registered, and all three were presented in court, where they were remanded to judicial custody at Salem Central Prison.
