CRAVEN COUNTY, N.C. — A New Bern man is facing multiple felony charges after deputies with the Craven County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant on Friday, May 9, leading to the discovery of a large cache of drugs and weapons.
The search, conducted by the Criminal Interdiction Unit at a residence on Crocket Avenue, resulted in the seizure of:
781 grams of marijuana
75 grams of psilocybin mushrooms
39 dosage units of LSD
20 grams of cocaine
THC resin
Two rifles and one pistol
$1,000 in cash
Various drug paraphernalia
Authorities arrested 35-year-old Thomas Edward Dewitt, charging him with:
(2) counts of possession with intent to manufacture, sell, and deliver a Schedule I controlled substance
Possession with intent to manufacture, sell, and deliver a Schedule VI controlled substance
Possession with intent to manufacture, sell, and deliver cocaine
Felony possession of a Schedule I controlled substance
Felony maintaining a dwelling for the use or sale of controlled substances
Possession of drug paraphernalia
Dewitt is currently held in the Craven County Detention Center under a $130,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Monday, May 12.
