Tambaram Police Arrest Two Drug Peddlers, Seize 300 kg Ganja

Ganja smuggled from Andhra Pradesh seized by special police team

In a major drug bust, the Tambaram City Police arrested two drug peddlers and seized 300 kilograms of ganja that had allegedly been smuggled from Andhra Pradesh. The arrests were made on Tuesday morning (April 22, 2025) as part of a special operation.

A special police team from Sankar Nagar Police Station was alerted to the smuggling of drugs and began surveillance on the Anakaputhur Service Road, near Bharath Petrol Bunk. The team successfully apprehended the two suspects, identified as Tejas Bapu Waghmare (28) from Solapur and Sagar Sahadev Erande (31) from Beed, both residents of Maharashtra.

The arrested duo is suspected of being involved in the large-scale smuggling of ganja into the region. Police are continuing their investigation to uncover the full scope of the operation and any other individuals involved.
