In a major breakthrough, Bicholim Police arrested three men from Karnataka in connection with a hit-and-run accident that left two youths critically injured at Sarvan, Bicholim, on October 18, 2025.

The accident occurred around 11:30 p.m. near the MRF Tyre shop, when a silver Toyota Innova (MH 05 BL 1860) struck a motorcycle traveling from Bicholim to Sanquelim. The riders, Sanmesh Salunke (21) and Satish Jagdar (29), both from Vathadev, Bicholim, sustained grievous injuries and were rushed to CHC Bicholim by ambulance. The vehicle fled the scene without assisting or notifying authorities.

Bicholim Police registered Cr. No. 142/2025 under Sections 281 and 125(b) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Sections 134(a) and 134(b) of the Motor Vehicles Act.

An extensive investigation led by PI Vijay Rane Sardesai and his team, including PSIs Jayprakash Jankar and Rashmir Parab Matonkar, HC Nilesh Foguersri, and PC Sandeep Pawale, involved reviewing CCTV footage along the route. Using Panaji Smart City cameras, the team identified the vehicle and traced its history.

The car was originally owned by Shashank Tulaskar of Ubadanda, Vengurla, Maharashtra, then sold to Santosh Hublikar of Ramgadh, Vengurla. Hublikar confirmed the vehicle was being used by his brother-in-law’s son, Suraj Patri of Beedi, Belagavi, Karnataka.

A second police team, including PSI Jayprakash Jankar and PSI Akash Parwar, tracked Patri and his accomplices, Prakash Sambhoji and Allamaprabhu Gundappnavar, in Belagavi. Police said the accomplices aided the crime by fleeing the scene without offering help or notifying authorities.

All three men were brought to Bicholim Police Station and formally arrested. Investigations are ongoing to determine the full extent of their involvement.
