In a tragic incident, Suman Kumar Singh, a native of Muzaffarpur, Bihar, was arrested in Gurugram for allegedly killing his 6-year-old son Satyam following a violent outburst after the child refused to bring him water.
The incident occurred on May 6 in the Shakti Nagar area, where the accused currently resides. Gurugram police confirmed the arrest and stated that Singh was produced in court on Saturday and has been sent to jail.
According to the Sector-10A police, they received a hospital alert regarding a child with a head injury. Upon reaching the hospital, it was discovered that Satyam had been referred to PGI Rohtak, where he was declared dead on arrival. The postmortem report confirmed that the boy died from severe head trauma.
On May 7, Satyam’s mother informed police that she received a call from her husband through her company’s contractor, informing her about the child’s injury. She rushed to their rented home and found Satyam unconscious, bearing visible injuries.
During interrogation, Singh confessed he was intoxicated and unemployed that day. When his son did not bring him water, he slapped the child. After Satyam threatened to tell his mother, Singh beat him. In the course of the beating, the boy reportedly hit the wall several times, leading to fatal head injuries.
A case of murder has been registered at Sector-10A Police Station, and investigations are ongoing.
