Srinagar Police Arrest Imran Hussain Sofi for Theft, Recover Stolen Cash

Police solve Rs 27,000 theft case in Srinagar with swift action

Srinagar Police have successfully solved a theft case by arresting the accused involved in stealing cash from a cloth shop in Nowshera. The stolen amount of Rs Rs27,000 was also recovered from his possession.

According to police, on February 12, 2025, Ali Mohammad Mir, a resident of Nowshera, filed a written complaint reporting that an unknown thief had entered his shop and stolen cash. Following the complaint, a case (FIR No. 08/2025) was registered at Police Station Soura, and an investigation was launched.

Within hours of the crime, a police team apprehended the accused, identified as Imran Hussain Sofi, son of Ghulam Nabi, from Khumeni Chowk, Bemina, Budgam. During questioning, Sofi confessed to the theft, and the stolen cash was recovered from his possession.

Srinagar Police have urged citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to local police or dial 112 to ensure prompt action against criminals.
