The Periyanaickenpalayam police in Coimbatore have arrested three individuals involved in the murder of Kannan, a fellow drug peddler. The suspects, Sridharan (27), Harikrishnan (25), and Karthi (28), were arrested after a quarrel between the victim and the accused escalated following alcohol consumption. Kannan was abducted in a car before being murdered by the three suspects from Siddhapudur.
Two other individuals, Sathish and Ravindran, remain absconding, and the police are continuing their search for the pair.
In another incident, the Kattoor police detained three youths, Kiran, Siva, and Balaji, on suspicion of drunken driving along the Gandhipuram 100-feet road on Wednesday night. According to sources, the trio initially attempted to use political influence to intimidate the police personnel on duty.
