Six British nationals were arrested after a police raid at a house in Muang district of Phuket on Thursday. The raid resulted in the seizure of 6 kilograms of cannabis buds and 39 small tanks of nitrous oxide, commonly known as laughing gas.

According to police reports, the suspects were found inside the house during the operation. The officers discovered six bags containing 3 kilograms of dried cannabis buds near the door of one of the bedrooms. An additional 3 kilograms of cannabis buds were seized from another bedroom in six separate bags. The occupant of the second bedroom reportedly admitted that the cannabis belonged to him but was unable to provide a permit for the sale of cannabis buds, as required by Thai law.

In addition to the cannabis, police also seized 39 small tanks of laughing gas from the property’s car park. The men were arrested and are now in police custody for further investigation.

The suspects were in Thailand on tourist visas, which allow for travel, business dealings, and short-term work for a maximum of 60 days. As of the arrest, their visas had not yet expired. The names of the individuals arrested were identified as Abdifatah Gulaid Abdi Ahmed (31), Esah Muse Mohamed (22), Ismail Mustafa Waleed Ahmed Taha (20), Noah Ihiekwe Chidi Eze (30), Darian Gledhill (32), and Kieran Gregory (26).

Thai authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the seized substances and the suspects’ activities in the country.
