Harichandanpur police have successfully arrested six suspects in connection with the daring daytime robbery at Narayan Jewellers, which took place on June 25. The gang, armed with firearms and sharp weapons, looted gold and silver ornaments worth over Rs2 crore from the store and assaulted the shop owner before fleeing on motorcycles.
A special task force, formed immediately after the incident, conducted raids across the state. During these operations, the police recovered looted jewellery, three mobile phones, and three motorcycles used in the crime.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Biki Patra, Jagu Patra, and Ajit Pattnayak from Kendrapara district, Jagannath Ghadei from Cuttack, Indramani Mohant from Jajpur, and Buddhadev Mohant of Bailbeda village, Harichandanpur.
Three of the suspects were apprehended shortly after the robbery, while the remaining three were arrested recently. All six have been presented before the court, and investigations are ongoing to determine if more individuals were involved in the heist.
Keonjhar SP and senior police officials have urged citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity in the area.
