Popular Tollywood playback singer Mangli was arrested on Wednesday following a police raid at a private birthday celebration she hosted at Tripura Resort, located near Irlapalli in Chevella on Hyderabad’s outskirts.
Authorities conducted the raid after receiving a tip-off and found imported liquor and illegal drugs at the venue. Out of the 48 attendees tested, nine tested positive for drug consumption.
Police also confiscated several bottles of foreign liquor. A case was promptly filed against Mangli and others under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Additionally, she faces charges for hosting the event without required permissions or legal clearances.
Sources revealed that nearly 50 guests were present at the gathering, including Mangli’s relatives, members from the film industry, and several popular Telugu personalities.
