A 26-year-old man, Bunti, was arrested in Shahdara, Delhi for allegedly fatally hitting Danua (36) with a wooden stick during a drunken altercation in Gandhi Nagar.

Danua, a native of Hathras, Uttar Pradesh, ran an earthen pot-making shop and also worked as a pedal rickshaw puller.

Police received a PCR call at 9:49 PM on Saturday, reporting a man lying beside a road in a pool of blood near the boundary wall of a school in Mahila Colony. Officers arrived to find Danua dead, with head injuries and blood around his head.

A 62-year-old dhaba owner reported that he was warming himself by a fire when Danua and Bunti came to his shop, consumed alcohol, and got into a heated argument, using abusive language. During the altercation, Bunti allegedly picked up a wooden stick and struck Danua on the head, causing him to collapse and bleed from the mouth.

Bunti was arrested, and the wooden stick used in the attack was recovered. A case was registered under Section 103 (murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at the Geeta Colony police station.
