City police successfully arrested seven individuals in connection with two separate murder cases that occurred on Sunday night.
In the first case, Akshay Dipak Chavan, a resident of Majarewadi, Kurundwad in Shirol tehsil, was found murdered near Siddharth Chowk. Following a police tip-off, officers launched a five-hour search in the MIDC Shiroli area, leading to the arrest of one suspect, Yash Sunil Kamble. His arrest subsequently led to the capture of two more accused: Aman Jamir Danawade and Srijay Babau Badsar. The trio is between 19 and 22 years old.
In a separate incident in Gandhinagar, 22-year-old Ashutosh Sunil Awale was found dead near Panchaganga Ghat. Police reports indicated Awale had been involved in a fight with a group of youths. Within two hours, police arrested four suspects — Shankar Bansode, Raju Kalokhe, Shubham Kamble, and Karan Dange — and detained three juveniles linked to the case.
The police have registered cases and investigations are ongoing to unravel the motives and circumstances behind both murders.
