ROCKFORD, IL — Seven individuals have been arrested in Rockford, Illinois, following a violent incident in which a woman and her 6-year-old child were allegedly attacked by a mob of people, according to court records and police reports.

The Rockford Police Department responded to a call on April 8 regarding a mob assault in the 1200 block of North Horsman Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered the victim, a woman with visible injuries, who later described the ordeal that led to the violent confrontation.

Initial Altercation and Mob Attack
The victim informed authorities that earlier in the day, she had been involved in a fight with Imani Christian, 24, and Delaney Menge, 24. After the initial dispute, she was allegedly attacked by a group of people at her home.

As the woman attempted to place her children into her car to leave the area, the group reportedly pulled her and one of her children out of the vehicle. Court records show that the child was held down by the mob while they continued to assault the woman.

Corroboration and Admission of Guilt
The woman’s story was corroborated by the victim’s child and another witness who confirmed the details of the attack. Imani Christian, one of the alleged attackers, told police that her car keys were missing after the initial altercation, prompting her to gather ten people to confront the woman again. Christian admitted to organizing the second attack.
