by Sophia Bennett

Seven suspects were arrested in Fort Worth on Thursday after attempting to steal an ATM. The suspects are believed to be part of an ATM theft crew from the Houston area that has been involved in previous thefts in Fort Worth.

According to Fort Worth police, they received a tip that the crew would be targeting an ATM in the area. Officers began conducting surveillance and followed three vehicles to a bank ATM on Hulen Street. One of the vehicles, a Ford F250, had been reported stolen.

As the suspects approached the ATM with tools like a pry bar and a sledgehammer, attempting to pull the machine away with tow straps, police moved in. Three suspects tried to flee the scene but were arrested, along with four others who were acting as lookouts in separate vehicles.

The suspects arrested are Jemarkus Bogany, 23, Eric Davenport, 40, Traveon Odoms-Lopez, 37, Letrevious Pegese, 23, Mitchell Prince, 23, Andre Varnado, 30, and Andreius Wynn-Farley, 29. All seven face charges of engaging in organized criminal activity. Bogany, Odoms-Lopez, and Wynn-Farley are also charged with evading arrest.

Investigators are continuing to examine if these suspects are connected to other recent ATM thefts in Fort Worth and surrounding areas.
