West Delhi police arrested Sehzad and Sheikh Zishan, both aged 23 and residents of Jahangirpuri, for their alleged involvement in a series of housebreakings and thefts in the Moti Nagar area. Police recovered gold and silver jewellery worth approximately Rs10 lakh from their possession.
The arrests followed a complaint lodged on Monday regarding the theft of cash and jewellery from a residence in Moti Nagar after a break-in. Using CCTV footage, local intelligence, and technical surveillance, police tracked the suspects’ movements and traced them to a park in Jahangirpuri on Tuesday.
Moti Nagar DCP (West) Darade Sharad Bhaskar said both accused are first-time offenders. With their arrest, police have solved seven burglary cases registered at Moti Nagar police station.
Further investigation is underway to ascertain whether the duo was involved in similar crimes in other parts of the city.
