Police arrested two members of a gang within 24 hours after they allegedly stole gold and silver jewelry worth Rs 57.46 lakh from a shop in Meerut and fled to Mumbai, officials said on Monday.
Following a tip-off regarding the involvement of Saurabh Sathe (21) and Mohan Pawar (24) in the high-value theft, the police traced and apprehended the suspects in Borivali, Mumbai, a crime branch official confirmed.
The swift arrest came after intensive coordination between Meerut and Mumbai police. Further investigation is underway to recover the stolen valuables and identify any additional accomplices.
