UTICA, N.Y. — A Utica man wanted on a robbery warrant was arrested after providing false information to officers during a patrol stop on Oneida Street, police said.
According to authorities, Samuel Crippen, 37, was stopped by Utica Police, who were working in coordination with the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office and the New York State Police.
Crippen allegedly gave officers false identifying information. When police discovered the deception, they attempted to detain him, leading to a brief struggle before he was handcuffed.
Investigators later confirmed that Crippen had an outstanding felony robbery warrant issued by the NYPD.
A subsequent search uncovered several baggies containing a substance believed to be cocaine. The drugs were seized, and Crippen was transported to the Utica Police Department.
He now faces multiple charges, including criminal possession of a controlled substance and obstruction of governmental administration, in addition to the robbery warrant.
