Samba Police Arrest Two Drug Peddlers, Seize Heroin in Bari Brahmana

Zahid Hussain and Karunesh Sharma Arrested with 15.30 Grams of Heroin

As part of its continued crackdown on drug trafficking, Samba Police arrested two individuals, Zahid Hussain and Karunesh Sharma, and seized 15.30 grams of heroin (chitta) from their possession. The arrests occurred during a vehicle checkpoint near Vijay Steel Factory in Bari Brahmana.

The vehicle, a Ciaz car, was intercepted by the police team led by the Station House Officer (SHO) of Bari Brahmana Police Station, with supervision from the Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) and the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Samba. The heroin was recovered from the two individuals, identified as Zahid Hussain, a resident of Leh (Ladakh), currently residing in Sarwal, Jammu, and Karunesh Sharma, also from Sarwal, Jammu.

A case under the NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) Act has been registered at the Bari Brahmana Police Station. The investigation is currently ongoing as the police remain committed to curbing drug-related criminal activities in the district.
