Samad Khan Arrested for Gold Jewellery Theft in Bantwal

Gold worth Rs20 lakh stolen from bus five months ago

The Bantwal Town Police have arrested Samad Khan (37), a resident of Madhya Pradesh, in connection with a gold jewellery theft that occurred five months ago.

The incident took place on November 19, 2025, when gold ornaments weighing 180 grams, valued at approximately Rs20 lakh, belonging to a couple from Brahmavar, were stolen from a bag kept inside a Durgamba bus parked near Samudra Hotel, Kudrebettu near Kalladka.

Following an investigation, the Bantwal Town Police arrested the accused in connection with the case. Further proceedings are underway to recover the stolen jewellery and complete legal formalities.
