HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) — A man is facing multiple felony charges after a high-speed police chase early Wednesday morning in Hamilton County ended with a crash and a major drug and weapons bust.
The incident began around 12:50 a.m. on June 4, 2025, when a Hamilton County Sheriff’s deputy observed a silver Nissan Armada speeding northbound on Highway 58. The deputy attempted a traffic stop, but the driver, Robert Moore, initially slowed down before speeding off.
Moore led deputies on a pursuit through Highway 58 and Harrison Bay, during which deputies observed a small black box and several white baggies being tossed from the vehicle’s passenger window.
The chase ended near the 6000 block of Harrison-Ooltewah Road, where Moore drove behind a residence, crashed into a fence, and drove down a steep embankment. His vehicle became disabled, but Moore continued to resist arrest until deputies were able to detain him.
Authorities recovered multiple baggies of suspected marijuana, methamphetamine, and fentanyl. The black box, found near the 9400 block of Harrison Bay Road, contained a stolen Glock handgun.
Moore was transported to the Hamilton County Jail and is now facing several charges, including:
Manufacture, Delivery, Sale, Possession of Methamphetamine
Drug Possession for Resale (4 counts)
Unlawful Carrying or Possession of a Weapon
Driving Under the Influence
Driving on a Revoked/Suspended License
