Ramesh Jawan Singh, Kaliya Held in Udupi Theft Case

MP duo arrested for stealing jewellery, cash in Udupi

The Udupi police have arrested two men from Madhya Pradesh for allegedly breaking into a house and stealing jewellery and cash in 76 Badagubettu village in Udupi taluk on July 20.

The accused have been identified as Bangada alias Bangu alias Ramesh Jawan Singh (37) and Kaliya alias Kalu (25), both residents of Dhar district, Madhya Pradesh.

Police said the duo stole silver and gold ornaments worth approximately Rs17,000 and Rs1,700 in cash from a house located in the Mission Compound area of the village.

Following the investigation, authorities successfully recovered:

681.83 mg of silver ornaments

470 mg of gold ornaments

Rs1,700 in cash

The suspects are currently in custody and being interrogated for possible involvement in other theft cases in the region.
