The Rachakonda Police cracked an inter-State ATM theft case with the arrest of five gang members responsible for stealing Rs29.69 lakh from an SBI ATM in Ravirala village, located on the outskirts of the city.

According to Police Commissioner G. Sudheer Babu, the arrested individuals include:

Rahul (25) – the alleged mastermind, currently based in Hyderabad

Musthakeem Khan (28)

Waheed Khan (18)

Shakeel Khan (24)

Mohammed Sarfaraz (28)

All of the accused hail from Mewat district, Rajasthan.

The gang arrived in Hyderabad from Delhi by flight and executed the ATM heist on March 2, completing the burglary in just three minutes and fleeing the scene within six minutes. The swift operation raised concerns about a highly organized criminal outfit.

The Adibatla police, after a 22-day-long investigation, tracked the culprits and connected them to similar ATM burglaries in Kushaiguda, BDL Banur, and Odisha. They primarily targeted SBI and HDFC ATMs using similar methods.

Investigations revealed that the gang had also carried out thefts in Delhi-Rajasthan-UP border areas and fled to their native villages immediately after the crimes. Several robbery incidents on the Outer Ring Road are also under review for links to the same group.

The case underscores a growing trend of inter-state ATM theft rings, and further probes are ongoing to uncover additional members or accomplices.
