A 50-year-old man, Radhe Shyam, was arrested in connection with a theft that took place on March 10 in Teachers Colony, Neemuch. Stolen cash and jewelry, worth lakhs, were recovered following his arrest.

The theft was reported by Rajneesh Soni, a resident of Teachers Colony, who filed a complaint on March 15. Rajneesh explained that he had left for work on March 10, leaving his mother alone at home. Around 3 PM, she locked the house and went to a temple. Upon her return at approximately 6 PM, she discovered the house had been broken into, and valuables—gold and silver ornaments, as well as cash—were missing from the cupboard.

Following the complaint, SP Ankit Jaiswal directed the Neemuch Cantonment police and the cyber cell to lead an intensive investigation. The police team analyzed surveillance footage from the crime scene and surrounding areas, extending the search to Mandsaur. Visuals were shared with neighboring districts, and it was soon discovered that the suspect had ties to Rajgarh district.

With the help of Chhapiheda police, the accused, identified as Radhe Shyam, a resident of Chhapiheda in Rajgarh, was arrested. During interrogation, Radhe Shyam confessed to the crime. Investigations revealed that he had been traveling between Neemuch, Mandsaur, and districts in Rajasthan, scouting unoccupied houses before committing thefts. The accused also had a history of similar criminal activities in Rajasthan and was allegedly connected with other criminals involved in illegal acts.

Based on Shyam’s confession, the police were able to recover stolen items, including 30 grams of gold, 5.5 kg of silver, Rs 7,000 in cash, an iron rod used in the crime, and the clothes he wore during the incident.
