The Kolsewadi police have arrested two individuals, Priyanka Memon and Sagar Sahu, in connection with the theft of a phone worth over Rs1 lakh from a showroom in Kalyan. The duo was caught on CCTV during the act.
The incident occurred at the Metro Mall in Kalyan on July 20, when Memon and Sahu discreetly took a phone from the display counter, placed it in a bag, and fled the scene. The theft was discovered by the showroom manager, who noticed the missing phone.
Senior Inspector Ashok Kadam stated, “We scanned footage from 65 CCTV cameras and identified Memon in the visuals. She was arrested on Monday. During questioning, Memon revealed the name of her accomplice, Sahu, who was arrested later that same day in Mumbai.”
Both suspects were employed at reputable companies, and their actions have raised concerns about their involvement in the crime.
