In a chilling incident from Jharkhand’s Palamu district, police have arrested two men in connection with the brutal murder of a couple and their son, allegedly driven by suspicions of witchcraft.
The accused have been identified as Pramod Bhuiyan (26) and Ravindra Bhuiyan (30). Police confirmed that the murder weapon—an axe—has been recovered following their arrest.
According to investigators, the victims were targeted after the accused suspected them of practising witchcraft and blamed them for the death of their father. During interrogation, the accused reportedly claimed they carried out the killings to take revenge, believing the family had used supernatural powers against them.
Police officials said further investigation is underway to establish the sequence of events and identify if others were involved in the crime. The incident once again highlights the deadly consequences of superstition-driven violence in rural areas.
