PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. — A 49-year-old alleged tri-county felon, Dennis Lynn, was arrested Monday afternoon in Port St. Lucie after being spotted at a local Target.

The Port St. Lucie Police Department (PSLPD) said the arrest followed a tip from the Martin County Sheriff’s Office, which indicated Lynn might be headed to the shopping area in Tradition.

Authorities say Lynn, wanted for grand theft and multiple charges dating back to 2017, primarily in Palm Beach County, was identified by Target’s loss prevention team through security cameras.

While officers conducted surveillance, Lynn reportedly stole items from the store and attempted to leave. Police intercepted his Toyota RAV4 shortly after. Lynn initially gave a false name, Bernard Watson, but was confirmed to be Dennis Lynn.

During the arrest, officers discovered multiple credit and debit cards that did not belong to Lynn.

He now faces several criminal charges, including:

Retail theft

Unlawful possession of someone else’s identification

Providing a false name to law enforcement

Unlawful use of a two-way communication device

Outstanding warrants from other counties

Lynn was taken into custody and transported to St. Lucie County Jail.
