Police Arrest Two Drug Peddlers in Budgam, Seize Contraband

Imran Ahmad Qasba and Imran Ahmad Shah Arrested with Heroin

Police in Budgam have arrested two drug peddlers and seized illegal narcotics from their possession, according to a police spokesperson on Friday.

The arrest took place at a checkpoint near the Sports Stadium in Charar-I-Sharief. Officers stopped a vehicle (JK01AS-9968) for a routine inspection. During the search, they discovered heroin-like substances wrapped in two separate paper rolls, weighing approximately 12 grams.

The individuals in the vehicle were identified as Imran Ahmad Qasba, the son of Nazir Ahmad Qasba from Mehjoor Nagar, Srinagar, and Imran Ahmad Shah, the son of Ghulam Mohammad Shah from Mangan Wachi, Kanipora, Srinagar. Both were arrested, and the vehicle was seized.

A case has been filed under relevant legal provisions at the Police Station in Charar-I-Sharief, and further investigation is ongoing.
