Pawandeep Singh, a drug trafficker from Bhitewad village, has been arrested following an investigation into a major heroin seizure on March 10. During the operation, police recovered Rs 3 lakh in drug money from Pawandeep, who is currently in police remand.
The investigation began with the arrest of Surjit Singh from Bal Sachander village on March 10, when he was caught with 1.062 kg of heroin in the Lakkar Mandi area. During his interrogation, Surjit disclosed that he was supposed to hand over the heroin to Kulbir Singh of Rajasansi, who had sourced the drugs from Pawandeep.
Following this revelation, Kuldeep Singh was apprehended on March 18 with 50 gm of heroin. Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Jaspal Singh confirmed that the investigation into the trafficking syndicate is ongoing, with further inquiries underway to track additional suspects and drug suppliers.
