HORSE CAVE, Ky. — A man from Hart County, Kentucky, is facing several charges after throwing suspected illegal drugs during a traffic stop on Monday night.
According to the Kentucky State Police, a motorcycle was spotted traveling northbound on North Jackson Highway in Horse Cave just before 10:30 p.m. Troopers activated their emergency lights to pull the motorcycle over. During the stop, the rider, later identified as 44-year-old Paul Logsdon from Hardyville, reportedly threw a white object to the side of the road.
Authorities recovered a wadded-up cigarette box containing suspected methamphetamine and pills. Logsdon also admitted to possessing marijuana. The citation reports that he became combative, yelling and threatening a trooper during the encounter.
Logsdon was arrested and transported to Caverna Medical for a blood draw. His motorcycle was found to have several issues, including worn-down tires, a duct-taped mirror, and a non-functioning speedometer.
He now faces multiple charges, including speeding 18 miles per hour over the limit, operating an unregistered motorcycle without a license, possession of methamphetamine and marijuana, tampering with evidence, criminal littering, improper equipment, and disorderly conduct. Logsdon is currently held in the Hart County Jail.
