by Ananya Mehta

Patna police arrested Ankit Kumar, a resident of Dadanpur village in Halai police station area, in connection with the murder of 30-year-old teacher Ganesh Sahni. Ganesh, a private school owner involved in property dealings, was shot dead on February 8 near Darjaniya Bridge in the Tajpur police station area. Police also recovered the motorcycle used in the crime.

According to Sadar ASP Sanjay Pandey, Ganesh Sahni ran a private education institution and was active in property trading. He initially formed a business team including Surendra Sahni, Phulendra Sahni, Raju Sahni, Ankit Kumar, Rajeev, and Randhir Ram. Following a dispute with Phulendra Sahni and Raju Sahni, Ganesh started a separate business group. Meanwhile, Phulendra had gone to jail in a separate dispute case.

The murder appears to have been motivated by ongoing disagreements over land deals. Police continue to investigate the incident and potential involvement of other members of the rival groups.
