Police on Sunday arrested three persons from Karnataka in connection with a house robbery in Palghar district, Maharashtra. Jewellery and other valuables worth Rs 10 lakh were recovered from them.
The incident occurred on November 18 at a house in Sativali, Vasai, when three men allegedly forced their way inside. The 37-year-old woman and her son were threatened with knives as the intruders stole gold ornaments and a mobile phone before fleeing. The woman sustained a hand injury during the incident, said Assistant Commissioner of Police (Crime) Madan Ballal.
During the investigation, police tracked the accused to Nandgaon in Bidar district, Karnataka. The three men—Ashok alias Babu Raju Shinde, Abdul Rauf Hashmi, and Ritik Ravi Belangi—were arrested on November 20. Authorities recovered gold, mobile phones, and cash valued at Rs 10 lakh.
Interrogation revealed that three more individuals were involved in planning and executing the robbery. Efforts are ongoing to trace the remaining suspects.
