LAREDO, Texas (KGNS) – The Laredo Police Department has arrested 32-year-old Oscar Valentin Arriaga after he allegedly stole items from a retail store in central Laredo.

The incident occurred on September 13, when officers responded to a theft report at a store on the 5600 block of San Bernardo Avenue. According to police, loss prevention personnel observed Arriaga taking an angle grinder valued at $61.27 and a paintball gun worth $123.

Surveillance footage reportedly showed Arriaga placing the merchandise in a cart and exiting through the garden section without paying. Officers later located Arriaga and recovered the stolen items.

Despite the recovery, store officials chose to press charges, and Arriaga was served with a theft of property warrant on October 1.
