FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA — A former aquatics director for the Fairfax County Park Authority was arrested last week on charges of taking indecent liberties with a minor.
The Fairfax County Police Department responded to a report just before 11 a.m. on June 8 at a facility located on the 8100 block of Braddock Road in Annandale. The complaint stemmed from a juvenile employee who disclosed inappropriate contact with the aquatics director.
Investigators from the department’s Sex Crimes Unit took over the case and found that 28-year-old Nicholas Ambrose, an Alexandria resident, had unlawful contact with the juvenile on a single occasion.
Ambrose was arrested on June 11 and charged with one count of indecent liberties by a custodian. He has since been released and is no longer employed by the Park Authority.
A spokesperson for the Park Authority emphasized the organization’s commitment to safety, stating that Ambrose’s employment was immediately terminated following the allegations. The agency is cooperating fully with law enforcement and will not release further details to protect the privacy of those involved.
The investigation remains ongoing.
