Nathaniel Johnson Jr., 69, Arrested for 2024 Attempted Murder in Birmingham

Man held without bond in connection to October shooting

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Birmingham Police have taken 69-year-old Nathaniel Johnson Jr. into custody in connection to an attempted murder case from 2024.

On Monday, July 21, officers from the city’s crime reduction team arrested Johnson at a residence on the 400 block of Kappa Avenue. The arrest was made based on an outstanding warrant related to a shooting that occurred in October 2024 on the 10 block of 17th Court South.

Johnson is currently being held at the Jefferson County Jail without bond as the investigation continues.
