In a shocking incident that shook Puri’s Gudi Sahi, the Town police have arrested Narayan Pattajoshi, the prime suspect in the murder of senior sevayat Jagannath Dikshit. Narayan, a resident of Gudi Sahi, was taken into custody and presented before the court on Monday. With bail denied, he was remanded to jail as investigations continue.
The tragic event occurred on June 11, when Jagannath, a respected sevayat from Harachandi Sahi Mahasuar Sahi, visited Narayan’s home. CCTV footage revealed Narayan dragging an unconscious and bloodied Jagannath out of the house and dumping him in a nearby ditch. This chilling footage, which quickly went viral, played a crucial role in identifying the suspect.
Jagannath’s body was recovered in a pool of blood and rushed to a medical facility, where he was declared dead. Following a complaint from Jagannath’s family member Bhimasen Dikshit, the police registered a murder case. The family suspects a personal dispute as the motive, but the investigation is still ongoing to uncover the full circumstances.
