SAVANNAH REGION, GHANA – Two young men, Nafiwu Bakar and Yusif, both believed to be in their 20s and residents of Damongo, have been arrested by the youth of Chogu for their alleged involvement in a goat theft operation.
According to local reports, the suspects were caught transporting stolen goats from Chogu to Damongo when community members intervened. The two were tied to a concrete pole at the Chogu chief’s palace as a form of restraint before being handed over to local authorities.
During questioning, Bakar and Yusif allegedly admitted to stealing goats in the area for about a month. Their actions have caused concern among residents, many of whom describe the pair as repeat offenders known for theft and scams in the Damongo community.
Frustrated residents are now calling for stricter action to deter such criminal behavior in the region.
